Our branch was founded in 1979 at a public meeting organised by head office. The inaugural meeting was well attended and a small nucleus formed the very first committee.

From that modest beginning, when we had virtually no money and only one small shed in a volunteer's garden, the branch has grown into a vibrant, well organised branch, based on sound finances, numerous purpose built catteries and underpinned by regular and profitable fund raising.

Over nearly 30 years Exeter Branch has rescued and rehomed thousands of cats and kittens. In recent times we have concentrated on a countywide neutering campaign. Even cold calling in trouble spots. Collecting all the unneutered cats and paying for their operations.
