Our branch was founded in 1979 at a public meeting organised by head office. The inaugural meeting was well attended.
From that modest beginning, when we had virtually no money and only one small shed in a volunteer's garden, the branch has grown into a vibrant, well organised branch, based on sound finances, numerous purpose built catteries and underpinned by regular and profitable fund raising.
Over nearly 30 years Exeter Branch has rescued and rehomed thousands of cats and kittens.
In recent times we have concentrated on a countywide neutering campaign. Even cold calling in trouble spots. Collecting all the unneutered cats and paying for their operations.
Please see the features page for details of our free neutering offer.
In the mean time if you would like to home a cat or a kitten please ring on 01392 200259 or 01392 361902
Summer Update:
As always at this time of year our foster homes are full with cats & kittens awaiting new homes, please visit our '
Ready to Adopt' page.
We have already found loving homes for 60 cats & kittens to date in 2011, with 25 still in our care awaiting adoption.
Neutering has been a great success, as always, with over 600 neutered in 2011 so far. We have operated campaigns in Tiverton, Crediton & Exmouth so far which included knocking on doors and transporting cats to and from the vets to be neutered.
Campaigns across Exeter will continue throughout this year.
Dawlish & Teignmouth cat owners who need help with neutering can contact 01626 862617, whilst other contact details for neutering support can be found on our
Neutering page.
All this comes at a cost and fundraising remains our source of income with John still attending the weekly Car Boots at Marsh Barton & various fetes throughout the summer.
Many thanks for your continued support
